April Image of the Month – Susi Nodding
In February (when life was normal) I spent 3 weeks in India. The Taj Mahal was an obvious priority on my list to experience and capture and I admit to over-dosing on it. I did plenty of research in preparation but what I hadn’t anticipated was President Trump turning up the same day I did. So I arrived in Agra to the smell of fresh paint, people frantically sweeping the streets and larger than life-size cut outs of Donald and Melania on every median strip and pavement.
But in fairness, he did me a favour, as the crowds to the TM next morning were fewer than normal and the gardens and pools looked even more spectacular than normal. I had planned this shot before I went and prayed that what I had been told would be true – that the best time to take this view was between the sunrise crowds leaving and before the daytime tourists descended – and in my case I was fortunate that it worked out very well! A wonderful experience and always nice to “tick the box” with a goal achieved.
