Monthly Club Competitions
All club members can enter the monthly competitions.
When members first join the club they are allocated into one of two sections - A Level and B Level based on their photographic experience. This gives members a chance to compete against photographers with similar experience levels and gain valuable feedback from our judges. Generally new members are allocated to B Level competitions.
B Level Members must have:
Never been a professional photographer or worked in the photographic industry.
Never received an award at a national or international level of competition or have VAPS (Victorian Association of Photographic Societies) honours.
Never been a member of another club and where they have been working at a higher level (i.e. A Level).
The committee may promote a member to A Level at any time after consideration of the member's competition performance and/or other relevant experience. An A Level member can request relegation from A to B Level at the committee’s discretion. The committee may refuse the application but must provide the member with a reason.
When a B Level member wins a trophy at our End of Year Trophy Competition in December, the member is promoted into the A Level.
MONTHLY COMPETITION AWARDS
Certificates will be presented to recipients of Honour, Highly Commended and Commended awards. An Image of the Month will be chosen from the Honours award recipients.
Prior to each monthly competition the submitted images can be viewed on the Members’ Hub and members can vote for what they feel are the best images. Votes from members are collated to determine the Members’ Choice Award each month. Certificates will be awarded for images voted by members as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both digital and print categories.
