Guest Speaker - Gavin Blue on flash photography

Gavin Blue is a professional photographer, who has spent around 30 years doing corporate work, and enjoys shooting people on location.

Gavin is passionate about flash photography, and uses it often in his professional work. Most useful for the audience were the before and after shots Gavin presented of a corporate location shoot, and his explanations about how and where he set up the flash equipment for that shoot.

At the end of the evening he selected a model from the audience (thank you Gaynor!), and explained how he would shoot a portrait using a softbox, reflector and remote flash. As the images appeared on the screen, we could compare the different setups Gavin used.

This was an excellent session for the camera club members of all levels who attended, and we were very grateful for Gavin’s vast knowledge on this topic, and the easy manner he explained flash photography.
